Full description

The American Wirehair resembles the American Shorthair in build but is distinguished by a naturally crimped, resilient coat and often curled whiskers. It is usually affectionate, playful and capable of enjoying both family interaction and quiet independence. Grooming should be gentle and not excessive, as vigorous brushing can damage the unusual coat. Regular play and measured feeding help maintain healthy body condition.
