Full description

The Alaskan Malamute is a large, powerful and enduring working dog that is often sociable and affectionate with people. It needs substantial daily exercise, outdoor activity and consistent training, while its strength, independence and prey drive require experienced management. Its dense double coat sheds heavily and needs frequent brushing. Care is also needed in warm weather, when strenuous activity should be limited and reliable access to shade and water provided.
