Full description

The Collie is typically attentive, cooperative and closely bonded with its household. It needs daily walks, training and mental enrichment, although its sensitivity usually responds better to calm reward-based guidance than harsh methods. Early socialisation can help manage reserve, noise sensitivity or excessive alert barking. Rough Collies require frequent thorough brushing; Smooth Collies need less coat work but share the same behavioural and exercise needs.
