Full description

The Dogue de Bordeaux is a heavy, strong dog that often forms a close bond with its household and may display guarding behaviour. Early socialisation, calm training and secure handling are essential because of its size and power. Exercise should be regular but controlled, particularly during growth and warm weather. Facial folds, eyes, skin and breathing need routine attention, and prospective owners should be prepared for high food, transport and veterinary costs and a relatively short lifespan.
