Full description

The Pekingese is an ancient companion breed with a confident, self-possessed nature. It can be affectionate and calm with its family while valuing personal space and patient handling. Its long coat needs frequent grooming, and its prominent eyes and skin folds require routine care. Because of its very short muzzle, heat, humidity and strenuous activity can compromise breathing and must be managed carefully.
