Full description

The Shikoku is an agile, intelligent and enduring Japanese breed with a proud, independent nature. It tends to form a close bond with its family but may be reserved with strangers and strongly motivated by movement or prey. Daily exercise, secure handling, early socialisation and patient, consistent training are essential. Its dense, short double coat is relatively easy to maintain, although shedding increases seasonally.
